What We’re Seeing in Indy: Women Under 40 Shaping the Next Era of Leadership

Across the city, women under 40 are leading in journalism, housing, workforce development, community engagement, and many other areas, shaping what our future will look like. What stands out to me most is that their leadership does not always come with a spotlight. More often, it looks like consistency, care, strategy, and the kind of work that creates lasting impact, even when it is happening behind the scenes.

Building a Community: The Courage to Be a Villager

Everyone wants a village. We talk about it often — the idea of having people around who support us, encourage us, show up when life gets heavy, and celebrate when life gets beautiful. We romanticize the idea of community. But what we don’t talk about nearly enough is the other side of that equation: being a villager.
